“Speaking honestly  is like cake right out of the oven, that needs to be cooled down before serving”.

Speaking honestly is the best way to develop a conversation. The problem is our emotions can be mixed with the words we want to say and the outcome might not be good.

Emotions have the power to surprise us. Depending on how they manifest the situation may take a form completely different of what we expected. Our words are tremendously affected by our emotions. That is why a honest conversation needs to be developed when emotions are stabilized. A honest and peaceful conversation works wonderfully in every aspect. It is the best way to create positive reactions in every environment.

This is a little advice that will prevent possible problems. It is always good enjoying a delicious cake, what is not good is ending up with a burnt tongue.

“Falar honestamente é como um bolo recém tirado do forno, precisa esfriar para ser servido”.

Falar honestamente é a melhor maneira de desenvolver uma conversa. O problema é que nossas emoções pode se misturar com as palavras que queremos dizer e o resultado pode não ser bom.

Emoções têm o poder de nos surpreender. Dependendo de como elas se manifestam a situação pode terminar completamente diferente do que esperávamos. Nossas palavras são tremendamente afetadas pelas nossas emoções. Por isso uma conversa honesta precisa ser desenvolvido quando as emoções estão estabilizadas. Uma conversa honesta e pacífica funciona muito bem em cada aspecto. É  a melhor maneira de criar reações positivas em qualquer ambiente.

Esse é um pequeno conselho que pode evitar possíveis problemas. Sempre é bom desfrutar de um bolo gostoso, mas não é bom ficar com a língua queimada.

BUTTERFLY // BORBOLETA

🇺🇸 A plantation will grow if it has all the necessary elements for that. Starting with the soil, then the seed, the water, the sun, the nutrients and the time. There’re other elements, they work as part of the process combining ingredients and processes not controlled by the farmer. Without them harvest is no complete.
 Those are elements of fertilization, like the wind, birds and insects. They work unintentionally on the process, because their real intention is not fertilize, but they end up contributing with the process of fertilization. By carrying the pollen from one field to another they are influencing on the final result. External elements, out of the grammar, like globalization, immigration, have a huge effect on words.
 One of the external elements on fertilization is the BUTTERFLY. This is our word today. There’re some different opinions about why they gave the insect this name. Some say it’s because of the color of the wings in some species, other say it’s because the color of fezes, some say it’s because of the texture and also, because they say they like to land on the milk to steel the butter out of it. It’s definitely a case of a name given according to the behavior. Someone looked to the insect, observed what it was doing and named it because of that. I don’t know about the butterflies, but we don’t usually like to be labeled.
 Maybe you’re fighting against a “name” someone gave to you. Perhaps you’re saying to yourself, it’s not fair. People are looking to different aspects of our life. To which one do you want them to be impressed?

🇧🇷 Uma plantação vai crescer se todos os tiver todos os elementos necessários. Começando pelo solo, a semente, água, sol, nutrientes e tempo. Existem outros elementos que trabalham como parte do processo combinando o que o plantador não controla. Sem eles a colheita não será completa.
 São elementos da fertilização, como o vento, pássaros e insetos. Eles trabalham sem a intenção de fertilizar, seu interesse no processo é outro, mas acabam contribuindo com o processo da fertilização. Carregando o pólen de um campo ao outro eles estão influenciando o resultado final. Elementos externos, fora da gramática, como globalização, imigração, têm um grande efeito nas palavras.
 Um dos elementos externos na fertilização é a BORBOLETA. Esta é a palavras de hoje. Existem diferentes opiniões sobre o porquê deram esse nome a ela. É interessante porque o nome borboleta têm uma origem muito simples e básica. Nem tem muito a ver com o que o inseto faz ou características relacionadas à sua natureza. A origem do nome vem do latin bellus, que originou a expressão belbellita, que é uma forma diminutiva de dizer “bela”. Então alguém olhou para a borboleta fazendo um monte de coisas e o que mais destacou foi que achou ela muito bonitinha. Não gostamos muito de ser rotulados.
 Talvez você esteja lutando com um “nome” que alguém deu a você. Talvez você pense, que não seja justo. Pessoas olham para diferentes aspectos da nossa vida. Em qual você deseja impressionar?

CONFUSION // CONFUSÃO

🇺🇸 Sometimes I like to play with words. I play specially when I write my texts. For me playing with words is to explore all possibilities with them. This is important when we want to say more using less words. That’s the nature of seeds. One seed can multiply itself and generate more than one sprout.
 There’s also another interesting characteristic in nature. It’s possible to joint different plants. We call it grafting. Like we can have a rootstock, which is the lower part of the three, from a lime tree, while the upper part, the scion, can be an orange tree. They do that to better develop the plant. We can do the same thing with words and give them a broader meaning. It’s also funny to play with their meaning.
 Usually words are combinations of two or three words. Like today’s word CONFUSION. That’s easy. We understand confusion as a mess or a misunderstanding. But when we look to the roots of the word we’ll see something particular. The roots come from latin con, meaning “with” and fusio “to blend, to mix”. The original meaning is to combine two different things in one, like a fusion, fusing one thing with another. And that’s why it’s a confusion, because after the fusion we can’t tell what’s one thing and what’s the other. Once everything is mixed it turned into a confusion. Sometimes even easy things can makes us confuse.
 We’ll see situations when life brings new possibilities. Sometimes two or more situations will be jointed, to turn the opportunity into something bigger. Maybe it will look like a mess, but don’t get yourself confused!

🇧🇷 Às vezes gosto de brincar com as palavras. Especialmente quando escrevo meus textos. Pra mim é explorar todas as suas possibilidades. Isso é importante quando queremos dizer mais com menos palavras. Essa é a natureza da semente. Uma semente pode se multiplicar e gerar vários brotos.
 Também existe outra característica interessante na natureza. É possível juntar plantas diferentes. Chamamos isso de enxerto. Podemos ter uma base de limoeiro com uma árvore de laranjeira. Assim se tenta o melhor possível para fazer a planta se desenvolver. Podemos fazer o mesmo com as palavras e dar a elas um significado mais amplo. Também me divirto brincando com o seu significado.
 É comum formar palavras com junção de duas ou mais. Como a palavra de hoje CONFUSÃO. Essa é fácil. Entendemos que confusão é uma bagunça ou mal-entendido. Mas quando olhamos na raiz, vemos algo interessante. A raiz vem do latim con, que significa “junto” e fusio, “mesclar, misturar”. O significado original é combinar duas coisas diferentes em uma, como uma fusão, fundindo uma na outra. Por isso é uma confusão, porque depois da fusão não dá pra dizer o que é um e o que é outro. Depois que tudo é misturado vira uma confusão. Às vezes mesmo coisas simples podem nos deixar confusos.
 A vida vai trazer situações com novas possibilidades. Às vezes duas ou mais situações vão se juntar, e tornar a oportunidade ainda maior. Talvez pareça uma bagunça, só tenha cuidado pra não se confundir!

PLATE // PRATO

🇺🇸 Words will bring a result. I believe in words. Have you gone through the experience fo hearing someone saying something to you and that word keeps echoing inside your mind? It’s their power for transforming. Just like a seed in the soil. The life echoes underground making the seed be transformed into a new life.
 It can be in nature and in grammar, life has its cycles with highs and lows, good and bad, giving the excitement and shaping life with variety and surprises. Since our birth we experience constantly transformation in every aspect, physical, mental, cultural, emotional, relational. I think if it were different life would be so boring and unhappy. What makes life amazing is that it’s not flat, not like a plate.
 PLATE is today’s word. The meaning is very simple. The origin is greek and means “flat”. That’s easy to understand. What’s also easy to understand is that would be horrible to eat in an uneven surface. How would we scoop the soup, or eat rice with a fork? No chance. So, sometimes we need a stable, regular, plain in life. I love a roller coaster, but not much more than 40 seconds. I can have fun ridding up and down, but I would be safe stepping my feet on an even ground. And that’s how we can enjoy life even more, going through all its levels and experiences. Excitement, stability and continuity. 
 Even plates are not totally boring and flat. There’s soups plates, bowls, desserts. Plates in different shapes, sizes and colors. Life can be the same, we can make something different out of everything.

🇧🇷 Palavras vão dar resultado. Acredito nas palavras. Já aconteceu de alguém falar algo pra você e as palavras ficarem ecoando na sua mente? Esse é o poder de transformação que as palavras têm. Como sementes no solo. A vida ecoa debaixo da terra fazendo a semente se transformar em nova vida.
 Pode ser na natureza e na gramática, a vida tem os ciclos com altos e baixos, bom e ruim, criando empolgação e dando formas variadas e surpreendentes. Desde nosso nascimento experimentamos constante transformação em todos aspectos, físico, mental, cultural, emocional e relacional. Se fosse diferente ia ser muito chato. O que torna a vida feliz é que ela não é chata, como é um prato.
 PRATO é a palavra de hoje. O significado é simples. A origem é grega e significa “chato, plano”. Fácil de entender. Também é fácil de entender que seria horrível comer numa superfície irregular. Como pegaríamos a sopa com a colher ou arroz com o garfo? Sem chance. Às vezes precisamos algo estável, regular, plano na vida. Amo montanha russa, mas não mais do que por 40 segundos. Posso me divertir indo pra cima e pra baixo, mas só me sinto mais seguro com os pés no chão. É assim que curtimos a vida ainda mais, passando por todas os níveis e experiências. Empolgação, estabilidade e continuidade.
 Mas pratos não são tão chatos assim. Têm os pratos fundos, de sobremesa, tigelas. Com formas, cores e tamanhos diferentes. A vida é assim também, podemos fazer algo diferente de tudo.

ADAPT // ADAPTAR

🇺🇸 A plantation of words has no time to sow neither to harvest. Words are there to be spoken, written and demonstrated. A new season may come, but words have the power to make the season. They can transform the place, touch the hearts, build accomplishments and perpetuate memories.
 Today’s word is ADAPT. It’s one of the words I like the most. I keep thinking what this world would be if we didn’t have the ability of adapting? The word means “to make suitable”. It’s something that can take the form of another thing, or can be fitted to another different thing and even to connect two or more things that can be connected by themselves if there’s no adapter.
 I not only like the word itself, I like adapters! I have a bag filled with many of them. Outlet adapters, electrical adapters, computer adapters, audio, video and cable adapters and connectors, camera, network, I have adapters for adapters, because the industry keeps changing the platforms. I use to work with video presentations and I like to be prepared for any surprising situation. In fact, I had to learn to be suitable in life, because as I grew up, my father’s job required him to move frequently, so adapting to new places, new friends, new situations were normal to me and this is one of the things I’m grateful for.
 Adapting is the strongest ability humans have, but there’s one thing we can’t adapt: we can’t adapt to what we weren’t made for. That’s why we can’t do everything by ourselves. We need each other to adapt.

🇧🇷 Numa plantação de palavras não existe tempo para plantar ou colher. Palavras existem para serem faladas, escritas e demonstradas. Uma nova estação pode chegar, mas as palavras têm o poder de fazer a estação. Podem transformar o ambiente, tocar corações, construir realizações e perpetuar memórias.
 A palavra de hoje é ADAPTAR. Uma das palavras que mais gosto. Penso no que seria deste mundo se não tivéssemos a habilidade de adaptação? A palavra significa “tornar ajustável”. É algo que pode tomar a forma de outra coisa, ou se encaixar a algo diferente, ou conectar duas ou mais coisas que não poderiam ser conectadas se não fosse pelo adaptador.
 E não é que eu só goste da palavra, gosto de adaptadores! Tenho uma bolsa cheia deles. Adaptadores de tomadas, elétricos, de computadores, áudio, vídeo, cabos e conectores, de câmeras, de redes, tenho até adaptadores para adaptadores, porque a indústria vive mudando as plataformas. Costumo trabalhar com apresentações visuais e não gosto de ser pego de surpresa. Na verdade, aprendi a me adaptar com a vida, porque cresci tendo que mudar frequentemente em função do trabalho do meu pai, então adaptar a novos lugares, amigos e situações se tornou normal e sou muito grato por isso.
 Adaptação é a nossa habilidade mais forte, mas tem algo que não nos adaptamos: aquilo para o qual não fomos feitos. Por isso não podemos fazer tudo sozinhos. Precisamos uns dos outros para adaptar.

SUPPORT / SUPORTE

🇺🇸 Have you heard of the saying, “all paths lead to God”? Probably. It means different ways heading to same point. What about just one way heading to a lot of different places? Have you heard of this? That’s the wonder of the words. A same word can carry different meanings. That’s why I like to plant them.
 With words we are able to reach beyond what we are saying. And that’s why we should be careful when using them. I’ve been through experiences when I said something and thought it wasn’t good, then suddenly, a person came to thank me for what I said. The opposite also had happened. Sometimes words go out of our control. But it doesn’t mean we can’t explore their potential. The better we know them the better they flow.
 Today’s word is SUPPORT. This is a good one! It’s easy to think about how many different meaning we can get out of this word. We can start with something that holds another thing, like a hook holding a bag. We can also think about a person assisting to another person in need. Maybe a crowd cheering up for a team. Or a person being patient while hearing another person complaining. It could mean to carry a heavy load too. The livelihood of an individual or family. A call center can describe support too. To defend somebody’s opinion. To give money to someone else. To join a party. To comment on someone’s blog 😁.
 The cool thing here is that this word is a two-way road. To receive support I need to give support too. When someone tries to help, the other should accept it. There’s a beauty when everybody can join in.

🇧🇷 Já ouviu o ditado, “todos os caminhos levam a Deus”? Provavelmente. Significa que diferentes caminhos levam ao mesmo ponto. Que tal “um só caminho leva a diferentes lugares”? Já ouviu esse? Essa é a maravilha das palavras. A mesma palavra pode ter significados diferentes. Por isso gosto de planta-las.
 Com palavras somos capazes de ir além do que dizemos. E por isso devemos ter cuidado quando usamos. Já tive a experiência de dizer algo que achei que fosse ruim e de repente, alguém vem me agradecer pelo que falei. O contrário já aconteceu também. As vezes palavras podem sair do nosso controle. Mas não quer dizer que não possamos explorar seu potencial. Quanto melhor as conhecermos, melhor elas fluirão.
 A palavra de hoje é SUPORTE. Essa é boa! É fácil pensar em quantos significados diferentes podemos achar nela. Que tal algo que sustenta outra coisa, como um gancho segurando uma bolsa. Podemos pensar em uma pessoa dando assistência a alguém em necessidade. Torcer por um time. Ser paciente enquanto ouve alguém reclamar da vida. Pode ser carregar algo pesado por um tempo. Pode ser o meio de vida. Uma central de atendimento ao cliente. Defender a opinião de uma outra pessoa. Ajudar dando dinheiro para alguém ou algo. Fazer parte de um grupo. Deixar comentário no blog de uma pessoa 😁.
 O legal é que é uma palavra de mão dupla. Para receber suporte é preciso dar suporte também. Quando alguém tenta ajudar, o outro deve aceitar a ajuda. É muito bonito quando todos podem participar.
