🇺🇸 Even knowing that in a plantation, sewing is so important as reaping, the harvest is the most celebrated time of the process. We like to see the results of our efforts. We are materialistic. Concrete things are more important than abstract things. Words can be both. They can be ideas and can be actions too.
Sometimes is a good exercise to think of abstract things and to consider them as a real part of our life. Let’s try this with today’s word: STRATOSPHERE. It’s the first layer of our planet’s atmosphere. The meaning of the word is “layer on the globe”, from the latin strato and sphere. Strato comes from sternō and it’s something that is scattered over a surface. Like to cover a bed with a quilt, like to cover a field with seeds. We think of stratosphere as an abstract thing, but it’s a concrete and important thing for us.
It can be the stratosphere or could be an onion, with all its layers, this is just a way to illustrate life. Everybody has layers. This is a serious theory. Every layer is protecting the layer underneath. Every layer has a purpose and function. We cannot get into the lower layer with pass through the upper one. It’s a lesson about developing relationships with respect. I’m saying this because the time we’re living this rule is more important than ever. We have to be very careful using words, addressing comments, mentioning someone or a situation. Make sure what you have to say is appropriated to the layer you are in.
In case of someone who enjoys living like floating around the stratosphere, I’d suggest to plan a landing in real life. Assuming to be where in fact we aren’t, will takes us to nowhere. Keep the feet on the ground.

🇧🇷 Mesmo sabendo que numa plantação semear é tão importante quanto colher, a colheita é a fase mais celebrada do processo. Gostamos de ver os resultados dos nossos esforços. Somos materialistas. Coisas concretas são mais importantes que as abstratas. Palavras são os dois, idéias e ações.
Às vezes é um bom exercício pensar em coisas abstratas e considera-las como parte real da vida. Vamos tentar com a palavra de hoje: ESTRATOSFERA. É a primeira camada da atmosfera do nosso planeta. A palavra significa “camada no globo”, do latin strato e sphere. Strato vem de sternō e é algo jogado sobre uma superfície. Como cobrir uma cama com uma colcha ou cobrir um campo com sementes. Em nossa mente estratosfera parece abstrato, mas para nossa vida é concreto e importante.
Pode ser a estratosfera ou poderia ser uma cebola, com suas camadas, isso é só uma maneira de ilustrar a vida. Todos temos camadas. É uma teoria verdadeira. Cada camada protege à de baixo. Cada uma tem propósito e função. Não da pra ir para uma camada sem passar pela que está em cima. É uma lição sobre como desenvolver relacionamentos com respeito. Digo isso por vivermos num tempo onde isso nunca foi tão importante. Temos que cuidar com o uso das palavras, como fazemos comentários, ao referir a alguém ou uma situação. Tenha certeza de dizer o que é apropriado à camada onde você está.
Em caso de alguém amar viver flutuando pela estratosfera, sugeriria planejar fazer um pouso na vida real. Presumir que estamos onde não estamos não vai levar a lugar nenhum. Mantenha os pés no chão.

🇺🇸 The space is still a point of interest for us here on Earth. Science keep observing, traveling, researching the Universe trying to better understand our origens, our possibilities. There’s still a lot to understand here, down on the ground, but that's right, I also believe our help comes from above.
NASA noted that in June of 2019 we’ll be able so watch the Opposition, which is when Jupiter gets closer to Earth and aligns in a perfect line with our planet and the Sun. This phenomenon repeats every 13 months and allows us to see Jupiter in the sky, with the help of binoculars and telescopes. There’s an app that can help us to find the exact location and progress of the planet through our sky: Sky Guide.
Since college I’ve learned that astronomy is an exact science. Everything that happens in space follows an exact pattern and can be predicted perfectly. So every 13 months we can enjoy the company of our big friend from this gang called The Solar System. Funny thing is that the phenomenon is called Opposition, which gives an idea of distance not getting closer. But some friendships are like this. We have people in our life that even with the distance, the lack of frequency in making contact we still can keep a strong relationship with them and we always enjoy the remote opportunity of being closer.
I’d like to challenge you to do something similar. Take this month and try to get closer to one of your good friends. Instead name it Opposition, let’s call it Favorable, because that’s what friends are to each other.

🇧🇷 O espaço continua sendo um ponto de interesse para nós na Terra. Ciência continua observando, viajando e pesquisando o Universo tentando melhor entender nossas origens e possibilidades. Ainda existe muito pra se entender aqui no solo, mas está certo, também acredito que nossa ajuda vem do alto.
A NASA informou que em junho de 2019 poderemos observar o Opposition, que é quando Júpiter está mais perto da Terra e se alinha com nosso planeta e o Sol. Esse fenômeno repete a cada 13 meses e permite ver Júpiter no céu, com a ajuda de binóculos e telescópios. Tem um aplicativo que pode ajudar a encontrar a localização exata e o movimento do planeta pelo céu: Sky Guide.
Desde a faculdade aprendi que a astronomia é uma ciência exata. Tudo que acontece no espaço segue um padrão exato e pode ser predito com perfeição. Assim a cada 13 meses poderemos desfrutar da companhia de nosso grande amigo do grupo chamado Sistema Solar. Engraçado é o fenômeno chamar Opposition, que dá idéia de distância e não aproximar. Mas algumas amizades são assim. Existem pessoas em nossa vida que mesmo com a distância, falta de frequência de contato ainda mantemos um forte relacionamento com elas e sempre desfrutamos da remota oportunidade de estarmos próximos.
Quero desafiar você a fazer algo assim. No mês de junho tente se reaproximar de um dos seus bons amigos. Ao invés de Opposition, vamos chamar de Favorecimento, porque os amigos são para isso.
