ACCOUNTABILITY AND TOLERANCE // PRESTAÇÃO DE CONTAS E TOLERÂNCIA

“Accountability works with a moderate level of tolerance”.

I don't think we take full advantage of what accountability can do for us. I am talking about the whole synergy and empowerment that it can generate when people join into commitment and cooperation.

 Accountability is not about keep pushing each other or about the responsibility to help each other. It is about taking part on personal growth. It is the responsibility of walking to the goal that will fulfill everyone's purpose. There is no accountability without sharing and there is no accountability without improving. When we develop a commitment on being part of other person's development there is no space for intolerance or strictness.

 Think on accountability as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Each one is great by it self, but just put them together and everything starts to make sense!

“Prestação de contas funciona com um nível moderado de tolerância”.

Não acredito que saibamos tirar total proveito do que significa prestação de contas. Também acho que não temos uma palavra que possa representar o verdadeiro significado de um nível de parceria assim.

 É uma interação que gera sinergia e potencializa o comprometimento e a cooperação. Não se trata de cobrança, mas da responsabilidade de ter parte no crescimento pessoal mútuo para chegar ao propósito individual. Não existe prestação de contas sem partilhar e não existe prestação de contas sem melhorias. Quando desenvolvemos compromisso em ser parte do desenvolvimento de outra pessoa não existe espaço para intolerância nem para rigidez.

 Pense em prestação de contas como queijo com goiabada. Cada um é muito bom sozinho, mas junte os dois e vai ver que tudo passa a fazer sentido!

In life we are constant seeking for something, better opportunities, new possibilities, another chances. We tend to connect all to a purpose we have to fulfill in life. Among all these, we are looking for answers.

Answers are the key to understand so many things, but unfortunately to find answers is not that simple. That is the reason why we should put more efforts on formulating better questions. A good question is like a magnet to attract answers. A good question works in two ways: gives clarity to the person being asked and facilitates the answer. It is like making the person we are asking more comfortable and confident in talking to us. Feeling confident is essencial.

There is a lot of confusion on people's mind and this affects their ability in bringing answers. We will never loose learning how to ask good questions.

UNITING LEADERS // UNINDO LÍDERES

“We need a leader to unite a group of followers. What would we need to unite a group of leaders?”

Leaders are essencial in every dimension. Leaders make the difference. Leaders are instruments of transformation. Leaders inspire followers. Leaders create movement to reach goals.

Beside all of that, leaders have the power to influence followers and develop the spirit of unity so everybody can perform as one. It is hard to find a group of people doing good without a good leadership. Now, what about a group of leaders? Have you seen a group of leaders performing? It is not the same as a group of followers. It is a potential environment for competition, confrontation and disputes. Not mentioning the problem with the high level of ego.

Leaders are moved by purpose. When they develop the vision of a higher purpose, higher than all of them, they become motivated to reach it out.

Líderes são movidos por propósito. Quando desenvolvem a visão de um propósito maior, inclusive que eles próprios, se tornam motivados para alcançá-lo.

FITTING AND PURPOSE // ENCAIXE E PROPÓSITO

“When it comes to the human aspect, fitting has more to do with the purpose than the measure”.

One of the human needs is to feel fitted in an ambient, like being a part of a group, belonging to something bigger. There are a lot of people making therapy just because they are struggling with those feeling.

Human complexity can create barriers and so many problems rise when we are not able to deal with that. It is way more easy when we think about just fit a lid to a cup or a pan. Perfect fits don't work the same way to humans. It is not about measurements. It is more like a paste we mold, but it is the purpose that brings people together. We have to make it work, being flexible, tolerant, patient and selfless. There is no perfect fit to humans, but there is perfect purpose.

The good thing is if we are facing problems to reach the same purpose it is because we still have room to grow, there is still future to the purpose.

“Quando se trata do aspecto humano, o encaixe tem mais a ver com o propósito do que com a medida”.

Uma das necessidades humanas é se sentir encaixado num ambiente, como parte de um grupo, pertencer a algo maior. Muitas pessoas passam por terapia  porque enfrentam grande sofrimento com esses sentimentos.

A complexidade humana pode criar barreiras e muitos problemas surgem quando não somos capazes de lidar com isso. É muito mais fácil ter que colocar a tampa numa panela. Encaixes perfeitos não funcionam do mesmo jeito com humanos. Não se trata de medidas. É mais como uma massa que modelamos, mas é o propósito que nos une. Temos que fazer dar certo, ser flexíveis, tolerantes, pacientes e não egoístas. Podemos encontrar um perfeito propósito.

O bom é que se enfrentarmos problemas para alcançar o mesmo propósito é porque ainda temos espaço para crescer, ainda existe futuro para o propósito.

TOGETHER // JUNTOS

🇺🇸 One of the most beautiful landscape images I’ve ever seen was a wheat field, while I was traveling through the country of the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. It looked like a golden carpet and it had a special touch of a tree right in the middle covered with a lot of green leaves. I’ll never forget that image.
 Plantation fields have this characteristic, plants grow TOGETHER.  This is today’s word. It’s easy to see the meaning of the word, because is something towards gathering people, things, ideas. But there’s an old root, an adjective, that means “self-assured, free of emotional difficulties”. That point caught my attention. The biggest challenge of being together is to deal and harmonize everyone’s emotions.
 Our emotions are the second strongest power in us. The first one is our will, but most of the time the will is affected by our emotions. We tend to protect our emotions with all our strengths. That makes complicated when two, three or more are together and have to discuss, dispute and confront the personal differences and interests. We use to thing that being gathered is to bring our emotions out of our interior, but what if we think like the meaning of the word? What if is it an opportunity to free our emotions? Maybe relating to other people’s emotions with be a lesson that will make us grow and stronger emotionally.
 We’re made to live and stay together to each other. I’m not saying it’s easy, but it can be amazing. It’s like a game that the best result is to finish tied. Being together starts with the feeling that nobody will loose.

🇧🇷 Uma das mais bonitas paisagens que já vi na vida foi uma plantação de trigo, quando viajava pelo interior de São Paulo. Parecia um tapete dourado gigante com um toque especial de beleza, uma árvore carregada de folhas bem verdes no meio da plantação. O tipo de cena que jamais vou esquecer.
 Plantações têm esse tipo de característica: tudo que cresce ali cresce JUNTOS. É a palavra de hoje. O significado é agrupar, reunir. Se puxarmos a raiz dessa palavra isso vai nos levar às bigas romanas, onde se juntavam dois, três ou quatro cavalos. Quando vamos para o grego vamos encontrar a palavra “zigoto” com a mesma raiz. Até a palavra “ioga”, sim da ginástica, vai ter a mesma raiz indo-européia.
 A idea geral da palavra juntos tem a ver com tudo que pode ser agrupado, mas com o objetivo de gerar algo novo, melhor ou maior. Não é apenas estar juntos, é estar juntos com propósito! Seja para tomar uma decisão, para iniciar e fortalecer relacionamentos, ou para construir objetos, veículos, também para gerar uma nova vida, ou criar uma condição física e mental melhor. Estar juntos vai causar reações, que vão ter o objetivo de alcançar uma condição melhor, condição essa que jamais seria possível alcançar sozinho. Não se trata sempre de disputa, mas principalmente de crescimento e fortalecimento mútuo.
 Fomos feitos para estar e permanecer juntos. Não digo que é fácil, mas pode ser incrível! É um jogo que é sempre bom quando termina empatado. Estar juntos começa com a idéia de que ninguém vai perder.

DISTINCTION // DISTINÇÃO

🇺🇸 Leadership involves a lot of things and it’s hard to point what is the most important one. It’s a mix of different aspects and experiencies. One thing is important all the time: to keep the vision. To create and lead a movement requires perception of where we're heading and to make the necessary adjustments.
 Having the right vision one thing that can be totally different from just having a vision. Most of people are able to visualize what’s ahead, but the leaderactive is focused on to correctly identify, understand and pursue the vision, turning it into good results. One big problem is to get confused with the different aspects of the vision and also make the difference between what’s right and what’s wrong.
 The leaderactive has to be able to see things distinctly. What’s distinction, by the way? It’s what makes similar things different. When we see two different things it’s easy to separate them, but when we see things that are looked exactly to each other it’s complicated. Usually it’s a little detail that makes the whole difference. In times of piracy we can train our ability to see the distinction of things. It could be clothes, shoes or an electronic device. We have to be careful to not pay good money on bad things. When I’m looking for an important thing, I make sure I know all the details that make one thing distinct from another.
 Not everything is about what’s better and what’s worse. Distinction is about what is really good for your intentions and plans. Distinctions go on this level too, what’s we should pick and what we should discard.

🇧🇷 Liderança involve um monte de coisas e é difícil apontar qual a mais importante. É uma mistura de diferentes aspectos e experiências. Uma é importante todo tempo: manter a visão. Criar e liderar um movimento requer percepção de onde estamos indo e fazer os devidos ajustes necessários.
 Ter a visão correta é uma coisa que pode ser totalmente diferente de apenas ter uma visão. A maioria pode visualizar o que está adiante, mas o liderativo está focado em identificar e entender corretamente e perseguir a visão, transformando ela em resultados. Pode ser problema se confundir com os diferentes aspectos da visão e também fazer diferença entre o que é certo e o que é errado.
 O liderativo tem que ser capaz de ver as coisas distintamente. O que é distinção? É o que faz coisas similares serem diferentes. Quando vemos duas coisas diferentes é fácil separá-las, mas quando vemos coisas que se parecem umas com as outras fica complicado. Normalmente é um pequeno detalhe que faz toda diferença. Em tempos de pirataria podemos treinar nossa habilidade para distinguir coisas. Pode ser roupa, calçado ou eletrônico. Temos que ter cuidado para não pagar por algo sem valor. Quando procuro por algo importante, tenho que ter certeza que sei os detalhes que distinguem um do outro.
 Nem tudo é sobre o que é melhor ou pior. Distinção é a respeito do que é realmente bom para suas intenções e planos. Distinção vai nesse nível, também, o que escolhemos e o que descartamos.

DOWNLOADING APPS // BAIXANDO APLICATIVOS

🇺🇸 One of the greatest success of our time is the smartphone. We can compare it to the success of the wrist watch or the TV: Almost everyone has one! Every day we find out new things to do with them, some totally unnecessary, some extremely useful. And people are still debating about its overuse.
 In fact what made smartphones a such success wasn’t the device by itself. It was when Apple released the SDK Kit in 2008. With it people could create apps and apply them to the use of the smartphone, in that case the iPhone. It was the boom that burst the sales and made people to fall in love for smartphones, once it created connection with situations and needs in life. Then the App Store came…
 Well, we all know what happened after that. Only in 2018 the number of app downloads was 194 billion. There are 4.8 million different types of apps available for both Android and iOS. Apple made success out of it with the slogan: “There's an app for that”. It’s not only about games and social medias with fancy features for your photos, we’re talking about help with medical procedures, special needs, learning, commerce, unlimited possibilities. And a lot of free options. So downloading apps become the easiest way to add things to life. It creates the feeling that by the touch of the finger tip, our life can be better.
 That’s the purpose of life, right? To find happiness. What do you think about happiness? Is it easy to get? What are you doing every day to get closer to it? Oh, you do have an account on the app store. So…?

🇧🇷 Um dos maiores sucessos de nosso tempo é o smartphone. Podemos comparar ao relógio de pulso e à TV: Quase todo mundo tem um! Cada dia descobrimos novas cosias pra fazer com eles, algumas desnecessárias, outras super úteis. E as pessoas ainda estão debatendo sobre o uso exagerado deles.
 Na verdade o que fez os smartphones terem tanto sucesso não foi o aparelho em si. Foi quando a Apple lançou o Kit SDK em 2008. Com ele as pessoas puderam criar aplicativos para usar no smartphone, no caso o iPhone. Foi uma explosão nas vendas e fez as pessoas se apaixonaram pelos smartphones, já que passou a se conectar com situações e necessidades na vida. Então veio a App Store…

 É o propósito da vida, né? Achar a felicidade. O que você pensa sobre a felicidade? É fácil de encontrar? O que está fazendo todo dia pra chegar mais perto dela? Ah, você tem uma conta na App Store. E…?

EXISTENCE // EXISTÊNCIA

🇺🇸 We’re living in an era very much influenced by the ideas of the existentialism. What some could call “the rediscovery of the human individual”. One of the thoughts that had a huge impact came from René Descartes: “I think therefore I am”. He explained: “we cannot doubt of our existence”.
 As seeds, words are filled with life. If we could say that we’re aware of our existence when we think, so when we speak our words share life to others, like a pollination. Life gains a wider perspective when we share to each other what we live. And that brings to today’s word: EXISTENCE. That’s not our essence, because our essence is the source where we come from, but existence connects us with that source.
 The root of the word is the latin and I like to go to the etymology because enriches our understanding. We have ex, which means “out”, “directing to a point” and sistere, which means “take a stand”. The modern idea of existence is more related with something steady, just like a presence. In fact, what the word really means is existence is a purpose for something, it’s not a random experience. The sooner we find the reason we’re stood for, the brighter life will be. That’s the question! How to find the purpose to life? Think! Think! If existence comes from thinking, we’ll find the reason connecting your thoughts with the source.
 Doubting and thinking are related. When we question, we start to look for answers. If we’re looking for answers, we’ll find options. Options will give us the power of choosing. Purpose will come with choices.

🇧🇷 Vivemos numa era muito influenciada pelas ideias do existencialismo. O que poderíamos chamar de “redescoberta do indivíduo humano”. Um dos pensamentos de grande impacto veio de Rene Descartes: “Penso, logo existo”. Ele explica depois: “não podemos duvidar de nossa existência”.
 Como sementes, palavras são cheias de vida. Se podemos estar conscientes da existência porque pensamos, quando falamos nossas palavras partilham vida com outros, como uma polinização. A vida ganha mais perspectiva quando compartilhamos. O que nos leva à palavra de hoje: EXISTÊNCIA. Ela não é nossa essência, porque nossa essência é a fonte de onde vimos. Existência nos conecta à fonte.
 A raiz da palavra é o latin e gosto de etimologia porque enriquece o entendimento. Temos ex, que significa “para fora” e sistere, que significa “tomar uma posição”. A ideia moderna de existência é mais ligada a algo parado, como uma presença. Na verdade o significado da palavra indica que existência é algo com um propósito, não um acaso. Quanto mais rápido descobrirmos a razão de existirmos, mais iluminada a vida vai ser. Eis a questão! Como encontrar o propósito para a vida? Pense! Pense! Se existência vem pelo pensamento, encontraremos a razão conectando os pensamentos à fonte.
 Dúvida e pensamento estão ligados. Quando questionamos, buscamos por respostas. Se buscamos por respostas, encontramos opções. Opções nos dão poder de escolha. Propósito vem com as escolhas.
