🇺🇸 A harvest comes with time. To have a plantation of words we develop thoughts and relate them with the extension the words can reach. Time has influence on the meaning of the words. Depending on the time we’re living a word can mean different things. Words and time together have the power to transform.
As time passes and seasons change we keep looking to an object other the the clock. We keep our eyes on the THERMOMETER. That’s today’s word. The english version of a greek word. Thermos means “hot”, “heat”, while metron means “measure”. The thermometer is used to register how hot or how cold a place is, but I’m writing the obvious here. We have thermometers everywhere in these days.
What’s not obvious is that a thermometer doesn’t tell us how the temperature is going to be the next moment. We need another device to help us on that. It can faithfully register every single change in the temperature every moment and once the temperature changes the thermometer goes with it. The thermometer lives in the present time. How many times we’ve heard about the importance of living the moment we’re in? That the present is the only time that we have? And that’s why we seek for the thermometer, because we want to know what’s going on now! Because at the end, now is what matters.
Who lives in the present moment is the person everybody is looking at. What that person is doing, posting, enjoying. While they are living, what are we doing? Looking at someone else’s life?

🇧🇷 Uma colheita vem com o tempo. Para ter uma plantação de palavras desenvolvemos pensamentos e relacionamos eles com a extensão que as palavras podem alcançar. Tempo influencia o significado das palavras. Dependendo do tempo ele pode ser diferente. Tempo e palavras têm poder de transformação.
O tempo passa e com a mudança das estações colocamos os olhos em outro objeto além do relógio. Ficamos de olho no TERMÔMETRO. É a palavra de hoje. Versão portuguesa da palavra grega. Thermos quer dizer “quente” e metron significa “medida”. O termômetro é usado para registrar o quão quente ou frio o local está, mas estou escrevendo o óbvio aqui. Temos termômetros em todo lugar hoje em dia.
O que não é óbvio é que o termômetro não diz a temperatura do próximo momento. Precisamos de outro aparelho pra nos ajudar nisso. Ele pode fielmente registrar cada mudança de temperatura em cada momento e se a temperatura mudar o termômetro acompanha ela. O termômetro vive o momento presente. Quantas vezes já ouvimos sobre a importância de viver o momento em que estamos? Que o presente é o único tempo que temos? É por isso que buscamos o termômetro, porque queremos saber o que está acontecendo agora. Afinal de contas, agora é o tempo que realmente importa.
Quem vive o momento presente é a pessoa que todos estão de olho. O que ela está fazendo, postando, curtindo? Enquanto essas pessoas vivem, estamos fazendo o que? Olhando a vida dos outros?

🇺🇸 Since humanity learned how to use electricity our live has been changed. Nights became a new part of our time and people have a lot to discover on it. We started to do things faster, used resources to supporting live, since freezers to hospital machines. Electricity keep things running around us.
Now it seems we can’t live anymore without outlets around us. People come to new places, get inside cars and the first question is: do you have an outlet? When we build buildings we plan to have lots of outlets available in the walls. Even though we still plug adaptors on the outlets so we can connect more devices on them. It’s totally part of our life in almost everything we do.
Even a very common thing like plugging things into outlets is facing a transformation. Now we have wireless charges ou inductive charging. This old technology is now being used to fulfill its original purpose, when James C. Maxwell predicted electricity would be shared wirelessly, in 1864. Old habits will be living with new ones. Sometimes is the best way to adapt, to engage into transformation. The more we can connect ourselves into how live is changing, the better we’ll find out the best way to enjoy life. Specially because we don’t know how much we’re going to live and how many new things we’ll see in life.
Every time you plug something into the outlet, or place it on a wireless charger consider, how plugged are you into life? It’s not possible to live in the future, it’s complicated to live stuck in the time that has passed.

🇧🇷 Desde que a humanidade aprendeu a usar a eletricidade a vida mudou. As noites se tornaram uma nova parte de nossas horas e as pessoas querem muito descobrir mais sobre elas. Fazemos coisas mais rápido, amparemos a vida com geladeiras até aparelhos hospitalares. A vida segue com a eletricidade.
Agora parece que não conseguimos viver sem tomadas ao redor. Pessoas chegam a novos lugares, entram em carros e logo querem saber onde tem uma tomada. Quando construímos prédios planejamos muitas tomadas pelas paredes. Até plugamos adaptadores nas tomadas para podermos conectar mais aparelhos nelas. Já é parte de nossa vida em quase tudo que fazemos.
Mesmo algo tão comum como ligar na tomada está sendo transformado. Temos carregadores sem fio. Essa velha tecnologia está sendo usada para cumprir seu propósito original, como predisse James C. Maxwell, em 1864. Velhos hábitos e novos hábitos vão conviver. As vezes a melhor maneira de adaptar é se envolver com a transformação. Quanto mais pudermos nos conectar com as mudanças da vida, melhor descobriremos como melhor desfruta-la. Especialmente porque não o quanto ainda iremos viver, nem quantas novas coisas veremos na vida.
Toda vez que ligar algo na tomada, ou colocar no carregador sem fio considere, quão plugado está com a vida? Não da pra viver no futuro e é complicado viver preso a um tempo que já passou.
