🇺🇸 A plantation of words have two ways: words as seeds and words as a harvest. As seeds, words can be used to influence, motivate, touch emotions and the reason. As a harvest, words can bring us experiences, knowledge and wisdom. They’re like a good money put in a good investment. Words can have a huge effect when they go right to the point. This takes us to today’s word: PUNCTUAL. It’s related to point, which can be related to an indication and a location. Punctual is the characteristic of being at the point. We use that referring on to be on time, not being late. The point is when the pointers of the clock point to the number (point) of the hour. Besides that, punctual can also refer to a purpose, because it’s related to a specific point. It’s when you have something to say, and it’s proper to that particular moment. It’s when you are called to help someone in a specific moment and for a specific reason, so your help was punctual. Once it’s done, there’s no need to do more. The characteristic of punctual is to be precise, which is a very good quality, the opposite of being prolix (which I’ll write about it in the future). It brings sense to “the less is more”. Believe me, going right to the point and being precise is not easy, specially because after that we need to leave the scene. Punctuality requires humbleness and maturity. 🇧🇷 Uma plantação de palavras tem dois sentidos: palavras como sementes e como colheita. Como sementes podem ser usadas para influenciar, motivar e tocar emoções e a razão. Como colheita, podem proporcionar experiências, conhecimento e sabedoria. É bom dinheiro posto num bom investimento. Palavras podem ter bom efeito quando vão direto ao ponto. O que nos leva à palavra de hoje: PONTUAL. Tema ver com ponto, o que está relacionado com indicação e localização. Pontual é a característica de estar no ponto. Nos referimos a isso como estar no horário, não atrasar. O ponto é onde o ponteiro do relógio aponta para o número (ponto) da hora. Além disso, pontual também se refere a propósito, porque está relacionado a um ponto específico. É quando você tem algo a dizer e é apropriado para um momento em particular. Quando você é chamado pra ajudar alguém num determinado momento, por uma determinada razão, sua ajuda foi pontual. Depois que faz, não tem mais necessidade de continuar. A característica de pontual é ser preciso, o que é uma qualidade, o oposto de ser prolixo (vou escrever sobre isso no futuro). Como em “menos é mais”.
