🇺🇸 Usually loved by handymen, tape measures are very useful. I don’t consider myself a handyman, but I have one, in fact more than one. It’s always good to have one available, we never know when we’ll need to fit some furniture to a small part of the room, or to cut a piece of wood or carbon paper.
Good things about tape measures are they offer at least two measuring standards. Usually, metric and the US customary units. Helps a lot to convert the measures. Another good feature is the retractable scrolling function and lock systems. Helps even if we have to measure an area by ourselves. Some have level function and lever lock and we can choose for the length of the tape, longer or shorter.
Probably you have played with one of them, just as me. Just pushing and letting scrolling back. Maybe you got your finger hurt. But the good thing is that the tape measure does its job getting sizes and lengths then returns to its own place. Different from people que like “to measure others”, noting on what they do then go around talking about those persons. Criticism, judgement, offenses are part of their measuring system. Some has a very good lock-system and keeping with criticism constantly. Sometimes it’s the best attitude if we can hold to ourselves thoughts and feelings, instead of creating discomfort between people.
Knowing people is a privilege. The more we know them, the better we’ll see their characteristics. Good tape measure is the one who after note them, scroll back to its place, preserving the marks the matter.

🇧🇷 Quem é “faz de tudo” ama. Trenas são muito úteis. Não me considero um “faz de tudo”, mas tenho uma, na verdade tenho mais de uma. É sempre bom ter uma ao alcance, nunca saberemos quando vamos precisar encaixar uma mobília num espaço do quarto, ou cortar um pedaço de madeira ou papelão.
Coisas boas das trenas é que normalmente oferecem pelo menos dois padrões de medidas. Normalmente a métrica, e o padrão americano de pés e polegadas. Outros bons recursos são a função de recolhimento automático da fita e a trava. Ajuda até mesmo quando precisamos medir algo sozinhos. Algumas têm função de nível e podemos escolher pela extensão, mais longas e mais curtas.
Provavelmente você já brincou com uma, assim como eu. Puxar a fita de deixar ela voltar com força. Talvez tenha machucado seu dedo nisso. Mas a boa coisa é que a trena faz a medida, obtendo tamanhos e comprimentos e volta pro seu lugar. Diferente de pessoas que gostam de “medir os outros”, notando o que fazem e saem por aí falando dessas pessoas. Críticas, condenação, ofensas são parte desse sistema de medidas. Alguns têm um sistema de trava muito bom e ficam falando das pessoas o tempo todo. Pode ser uma boa atitude se controlar, ao invés de criar desconforto entre pessoas.
Conhecer as pessoas é um privilégio. Quanto mais conhecermos, melhor veremos suas características. Uma boa trena é a que depois de notar, retorna pro seu lugar, preservando as marcas que importam.
