🇺🇸 I've always been a big fan of the future. It attracts me. For some reason I’ve always felt connected with progress, technology, new discoveries and I always considered myself a little bit ahead of my time.
Then I watched Mark Zuckerberg’s Metaverse presentation and something different happened. I felt completely disconnected with it. Then I tried to see myself on the reality he presented and I simply couldn’t! The feeling I had was: if that is the near future, it isn’t for me. I don’t want to be there. So, not being in the future means being… and then I started to struggle with that feeling I was having.
My mind always seek for solutions and I took a while thinking about that. I don’t want to predict my end! After a lot of thinking I saw the solution right in front of me: I have to die! Yes, that’s the solution. I’m a result of my generation’s reality, which is different from today’s and future’s generations. If I want to be there I need to die... and reborn. It’s time for me to learn more, reinvent myself, rearrange my mind and connect myself to the future in a way I can, even if it’s not the same way younger generations do.
Future has never being so present. Probably it’s different from what a lot of people thought. Future is not a reality, it’s an opportunity and time flow is bringing opportunities to us. So, what do you want?

🇧🇷 Sempre fui um grande fã do futuro. Ele me atrai. Por alguma razão me sempre me senti conectado com o progresso, tecnologia, descobertas e sempre me considerei estar um tanto à frente do meu tempo.
Aí eu assisti a apresentação do Mark Zuckerberg sobre o Metaverse e algo diferente aconteceu. Me senti totalmente desconectado com ele. Tentei me enxergar na realidade que ele apresentou e simplesmente não consegui! O que eu senti foi: se isso é o futuro, não é pra mim. Não quero estar lá. E não estar no futuro significa estar… e aí eu comecei a ter problemas com esse sentimento que comecei a ter.
Minha mente sempre busca por soluções e tomei um tempo pensando nisso. Não quero predizer meu fim! Depois de pensar bastante vi a solução na minha frente: tenho que morrer! Sim, é a solução. Sou o resultado da realidade da minha geração, que é diferente das gerações de hoje e do futuro. Se quero estar lá preciso morrer… e renascer. É tempo para aprender mais, me reinventar, reorganizar a mente e me conectar com o futuro do jeito que eu posso, mesmo que seja diferente das gerações mais novas.
O futuro nunca esteve tão presente. Talvez seja diferente do que muita gente pensou. O futuro não é uma realidade, é uma oportunidade e o fluxo do tempo nos traz oportunidades. E aí, o que você quer?

SPACE BILLIONAIRES
On July 11th part of world’s attention was taken to Richard Branson and his adventure of being the first billionaire in a flight outer space. The adventure lasted 90 minutes and it has become history already.
This was a part of the race that three billionaires are on, Richard Branson, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. Each one of them has developed plans and are working on them to bring traveling to space to a commercial level. Branson’s project is running for over 20 years and on July 11th reached a very important milestone. We will see much more accomplishments on this subject from now on.
What is the importance of this episode to the life of those who are not billionaires and live an ordinary life? The first impact is telling us about the future: new and impressive things will keep coming. Second, the race to reach the space indicates that space is still source of power, like it has been since the 60’s for some countries. Also, it is speaking to us about personal accomplishments. Each one of us has dreams and goals we want to bring to reality. Even for those who cannot count billions on their bank accounts, there is no excuse to not pursue what will bring a higher meaning to life. There is always a space to aim.
Richard Branson’s flight reached 50.000 miles high in the sky and after that he could land safely on the ground. You can fly as high as you want to, but make sure you will be able to land to tell your story after.

Maybe the top challenge to contemporary life is not facing changes, but facing resistance to changes. Even change being a very explored topic there is always a great number of people expressing problems to deal with them.
Maybe accepting changes is not the most important subject on this. This is a done deal. Those who are still struggling in accepting changes are out of the journey already. Now it is time to embrace change, time to adapt ourselves to them. It is a practical thing. I am talking about identifying changes and finding a way to incorporate them in the correspondent aspect of life. Otherwise, we will not be ready for today's reality and for the future.
Leaders are the agents of change. They are the first ones to bring new realities and turn them part of our common life. That is the kind of leader we need.

Estou falando sobre identificar as mudanças e encontrar uma maneira de incorporá-las aos aspectos correspondentes da vida. Se não fora assim, não estaremos prontos para a realidade de hoje e do futuro.
Líderes são os agentes da mudança. Eles são os primeiros a trazer novas realidade e torná-las parte da vida comum. Esse é o tipo de liderança que precisamos.

Diversity is a topic that will never end. It is one of the tendencies for the future. As the world creates more forms of integration, the outcome will be diversity taking more space in society.
Soon diversity will become majority and this is an important consideration. To get there, embracing an environment of harmony and peace we need to keep open the road to that future. Nothing is going to happen randomly. Jus because we see diversity as a good thing it doesn't mean that everything related to it will be good. Diversity is like a building with a lot of ways to get in. Each one of those ways in needs constant attention and favorable actions.
Important things need special care. What we are seeing today may not be what the future will show. Developing diversity is an work that will never end.

“When it comes to the human aspect, fitting has more to do with the purpose than the measure”.
One of the human needs is to feel fitted in an ambient, like being a part of a group, belonging to something bigger. There are a lot of people making therapy just because they are struggling with those feeling.
Human complexity can create barriers and so many problems rise when we are not able to deal with that. It is way more easy when we think about just fit a lid to a cup or a pan. Perfect fits don't work the same way to humans. It is not about measurements. It is more like a paste we mold, but it is the purpose that brings people together. We have to make it work, being flexible, tolerant, patient and selfless. There is no perfect fit to humans, but there is perfect purpose.
The good thing is if we are facing problems to reach the same purpose it is because we still have room to grow, there is still future to the purpose.

Uma das necessidades humanas é se sentir encaixado num ambiente, como parte de um grupo, pertencer a algo maior. Muitas pessoas passam por terapia porque enfrentam grande sofrimento com esses sentimentos.
A complexidade humana pode criar barreiras e muitos problemas surgem quando não somos capazes de lidar com isso. É muito mais fácil ter que colocar a tampa numa panela. Encaixes perfeitos não funcionam do mesmo jeito com humanos. Não se trata de medidas. É mais como uma massa que modelamos, mas é o propósito que nos une. Temos que fazer dar certo, ser flexíveis, tolerantes, pacientes e não egoístas. Podemos encontrar um perfeito propósito.
O bom é que se enfrentarmos problemas para alcançar o mesmo propósito é porque ainda temos espaço para crescer, ainda existe futuro para o propósito.

🇺🇸 One thing that everybody is thinking is how life is going to be from now on, and of course, there’re a lot of expectations going on about the future of work. Considering that we were caught unprepared this time, this new reality is something to be considered. So, is working from home something that came to stay?
There’s no doubt that the perspective we are having about work now is giving us the answer to that question. The experience that so many are having can allow us to rethink the working process, not only about location, but also about dynamics. Maybe we’ll have the chance to consider Bertrand Russell’s ideas, as well, Italian sociologist Domenico de Masi's concepts about work and optimization of the time.
Work will change, as it’s changed through out history. Working from home will become a top option, because it’s possible and less expensive to individuals and companies. Technology will enable personal interactions and faster processes with higher efficiency. There’s still a lot to be learned about organizing, dealing with disturbance and security improvement, but we’re on track. New methods will be developed and improved. New work activities will be created. Some people might complain. Don’t be one of them.
One last challenge will remain, which is to enjoy the spare time building new and better relationships, hanging out with family and friends, enriching the spirit with culture. Are we able to make that happen?

🇧🇷 Uma coisa que todo mundo está pensando é sobre como a vida vai ser daqui pra frente e claro, existe um monte de expectativas sobre o trabalho no futuro. Considerando que fomos pegos de supresa desta vez, esta nova realidade é algo para se considerar. Então, trabalhar de casa é algo que veio pra ficar?
Não há dúvida de que a perspectiva que estamos tendo sobre trabalho agora está no dando a resposta para essa pergunta. A experiência que muitos estão tendo vai permitir repensar o processo de trabalho, tanto na localização quanto na dinâmica. Talvez tenhamos a chance de considerar as ideias de Bertrand Russell, bem como os conceitos sobre trabalho e uso do tempo do sociólogo italiano Domenico de Masi.
O trabalho vai mudar, como tem mudado através da história. Trabalhar de casa será uma opção top, por ser viável e mais barato para indivíduos e empresas. A tecnologia vai permitir interações pessoais, processos mais rápidos e com maior eficiência. Ainda há muito que se aprender sobre organização, lidar com interferências e melhoria de segurança, mas estamos no caminho. Novo métodos serão desenvolvidos e melhorados. Novas atividades criadas. Alguns poderão reclamar. Não seja um deles.
Um último desafio vai ficar: desfrutar o tempo de sobra para construir novos e melhores relacionamentos, passar tempo com a família e amigos e enriquecer o espírito com cultura. Será que conseguiremos?

🇺🇸 What? A lot of people won’t like to hear that, although it’s hard to cover the reality behind this time of the year, when most people runs after chocolate. The story of Easter is way more than that, but it has also an important perspective for the moment the world is facing now and for what’s going to become after this.
Easter started for the hebrews after living more than 400 years as slaves in Egypt. It was the day when the entire people went free to live in a new land. They had to turn down the life style they were used to live to accept new standards. Once living in houses, now they’ll have to face to live in tents, eat a different food, adapt to the life in a desert, after lived for so long in cities. Easter was a point towards a new phase.
We’ve just come to a new point towards to a new phase. Two questions are taking most of the people’s attention: “when this moment will end?”, and “what life will become after this?” The first one has no answer yet. To the second one the answer is: different. New practices like, social distancing, body protection, online activities will take more space. We’ll have to adapt our life to that. We’ll have to adapt our business to that. New and renewed actions are the tools to successfully face what’s coming next.
It’s the time for a new social passover, across the red sea of sorrow, death, misery and fear. To move on and stay alive, smell the desert, taste the sand and embrace the sun. There’s life on the other shore.

🇧🇷 Como é que é? Tem gente que não vai gostar disso, embora seja difícil negar a realidade por detrás deste tempo, quando a maioria corre atrás de chocolate. A história da Páscoa é mais que isso, mas também tem uma perspectiva para o momento que o mundo vive hoje e para o que vai acontecer depois.
A Páscoa começou para os hebreus depois de viverem mais de 400 anos como escravos no Egito. Foi o dia quando saíram para viver numa nova terra. Tiveram que abandonar o estilo de vida que tinham e aceitar novos padrões. Antes viviam em casas, agora viveriam em tendas, comeriam comida diferente, se adaptariam à vida no deserto, depois de viverem em cidades. Foi um ponto para uma nova fase.
Chegamos a um novo ponto para uma nova fase. Duas perguntas tomam a maior parte das atenções: “quando isso vai acabar?”, e “como vai ser a vida depois disso?” A primeira ainda não tem resposta. A resposta da segunda é: diferente. Novas práticas como, distanciamento social, proteção corporal, atividades online vão ocupar mais espaço. Teremos que adaptar a vida a isso. Teremos que adaptar os negócios a isso. Novas e renovadas ações serão as ferramentas para ter sucesso daqui pra frente.
É o tempo de uma nova páscoa social, através do mar vermelho da tristeza, morte, miséria e medo. Para seguir e sobreviver, cheire do deserto, prove a areia, absorva o sol. Existe vida na margem do outro lado.

🇺🇸 Paper is one of the most important inventions through out history. Although some believe that we’re near to the paperless era, paper will continue making part of our life for a long time. Paper is useful to countless situations. But it’s also important to preserve the nature, so let’s support paper recycling too.
Of course, you are familiarized with paper rolls. I’m talking about those rolls used by calculators, or credit card terminas or a registering machines. I don’t know if you already noticed the sometimes the paper comes with pink stripes. Maybe you know why, I think it’s pretty obvious, but I think it’s a very smart way to prepare the person who’s operating the machine to replace the paper roll before it ends completely.
The idea is to avoid paper run out while still printing the receipt. Smart idea. I like smart ideas like that. Ideas that make a lot of difference in life, although are very simple. But besides the idea, is its usefulness, the way it solves a situations that could make us embarrassed. Imagine if we have this help for every situation that involves our future. Always be warned of what is about to come, specially when it’s the end that is coming. In fact, a little different from the roll paper, we can develop this ability to look to what’s going on and understand where the happenings are being led. It’s a way to be prepared for everything.
Surprises are things that not everybody likes. Because the surprise can be not good at all. But if we can see a pink stripe suddenly appearing, it can gives us time to do something necessary before it’s too late.

🇧🇷 Papel é uma das mais importantes invenções da história. Embora alguns achem que estamos próximos da era “sem papel”, papel ainda vai fazer parte de nossa vida por um bom tempo. Papel é útil para inúmeras situações. Mas também é importante preservar a natureza, então vamos apoiar a reciclagem.
Claro, você está familiarizado com bobinas de papel. Estou falando dessas bobinas de calculadoras, terminais de cartão de crédito e registradoras. Não sei se já notou que tem vezes que o papel sai com umas marcas rosas. Você deve saber o porquê, é bem óbvio, mas eu acho que é uma maneira muito inteligente de preparar quem está operando a máquina pra trocar a bobina antes que termine toda.
A idéia é evitar que o papel acabe enquanto está imprimindo o recibo. Esperto. Gosto de idéias assim. Idéias que fazem diferença na vida, embora sejam simples. Mas além da idéia, tem a utilidade, um jeito de resolver uma situação quer poderia ser embaraçosa. Imagine se tivéssemos essa ajuda para cada situação que envolve o futuro! Sempre sermos avisados do que está por vir, especialmente quando se trata do final. Na verdade, diferente da bobina de papel, podemos desenvolver a habilidade de olhar o que acontece e entender pra onde isso vai nos levar. É uma maneira de estar preparado pra tudo.

🇺🇸 China’s students were announced as the best students in the world. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development conducted a study in 79 countries testing 15 year-old students in reading, math and science. Chinese students scored over 10% above the average of students around the world.
Not only that, but according to the study there’s a correlation between academic development and socio-economic background. Some countries, even between the developed ones, showed that the higher the socio-economic background the better is the academic performance. OECD is concern that although countries that are spending more on education, there’s no improvement on academic development.
This study is performed every three years around the world. According to the results specialists create the expectations about the future development of the countries. They believe that education has the main role in social and economic development. Schools’ quality is fundamental, but it seems that that’s no enough. Raising the bar of the quality may still require more from the real basic for the childhood development: when a child finishes a day in school, what’ll she find at home? How families are playing their role on supporting the educational system? Can countries increase quality inside the families as well in schools?
Future depends more on integrating every part of the society. Schools, families, business and religious organizations, health and security systems. In the hands of which children is the future being placed?

Além disso, o estudo também mostrou a relação entre desempenho acadêmico e nível sócio-econômico. Alguns países, mesmo alguns desenvolvidos, mostraram que quanto maior o nível sócio-econômico, melhor o desempenho acadêmico. A organização está preocupada que, embora os países estejam gastando mais em educação, não houve melhoria correspondente no desempenho acadêmico.
Esse estudo é realizado a cada três anos pelo mundo. De acordo com os resultados especialistas criam expectativas sobre o desenvolvimento futuro dos países. Eles acreditam que educação tem o papel principal no desenvolvimento socio econômico. Qualidade nas escolas é fundamental, mas parece não ser suficiente. Aumentar a qualidade ainda requer mais da real base de desenvolvimento na infância: quando a criança termina o dia na escola, o que vai encontrar em casa? Como as famílias cumprem seu papel no sistema educacional? Poderiam os aumentar a qualidade dentro das famílias também?

Agony is the opposite of faith. Faith is the assurance of what’s going to happen, agony is the uncertainty. Agony leads to stress. At the end it has to do with the object of your hopes and your expectations.
