🇺🇸 Working with words makes our brain to exercise the logical and the emotional aspects of our mind. Words are logical for their form, combinations of letters, at the same time they’re emotional for caring meanings, exposed and hidden. The more we work with them, the more they will develop our power of thinking.
There’s always something else to reach with words, maybe because language and thinking seem never getting to an end. This is related with today’s word: ABSOLUTE. We understand that absolute means something complete, whole. But the real meaning of the word is different. The word comes from latin absolūtus, from absolvere, from ab, “away from” and solvere, “detach, untie”. It’s something “cut apart”.
If it’s cut apart it can’t be absolute, right? Someone would answer: “Absolutely!” Why did we come to the understanding that absolute means something complete? The idea of things being detached from each other makes these things free. Once something becomes free there’s no reason or need to give any explanation. It’s free. When we are free we can do whatever we want to. We become the complete owners of ourselves. The meaning of absolute is something divided, but the concept of the word became something entire. Maybe this controversy is the reason why sometimes we think we are what we’re not.
People don’t like absolutism. Most think it is a form of presumption. But in fact, absolute is the freedom to think, to believe, to accept whatever you want to. Because there’s nothing more absolute than free will.

🇧🇷 Trabalhar com palavras faz o cérebro exercitar os aspectos lógico e emocional de nossa mente. Palavras são lógicas em sua forma, combinação de letras, ao mesmo tempo que são emocionais no significado, exposto e oculto. Quanto mais trabalhamos com elas, mais desenvolvemos nosso poder de pensar.
Sempre há algo mais a se alcançar com as palavras, talvez porque linguagem e pensamento parecem nunca ter fim. Isso tem a ver com a palavra de hoje: ABSOLUTO. Entendemos que absoluto significa algo completo, pleno. Mas o real significado é diferente. A palavra vem do latin absolūtus, de absolvere, de ab, que significa “distanciar”, e solvere, que significa “separar, desatar”. É algo que foi separado.
Se foi separado não pode ser absoluto, né? Alguém responderia: “Absolutamente!” Por que passamos a entender que absoluto significa algo completo? A idéia de coisas serem separadas umas das outras faz essas coisas livres. Aquilo que se tornou livre, não tem razão nem necessidade de dar explicações. É livre. Quando somos livres podemos fazer o que queremos. Nos tornamos donos completos de nós mesmos. O significado de absoluto é algo dividido, mas o conceito da palavra se tornou algo inteiro. Talvez essa controvérsia seja a razão pela qual, às vezes, pensamos que somos o que não somos.
As pessoas não gostam de absolutismo. Acham que é uma forma presunção. Na verdade, absoluto é a liberdade de pensar, crer e aceitar o que bem quiser. Porque nada é mais absoluto do que o livre arbítrio.

🇺🇸 When we are involved in a movement and getting people involved as well, one of the things that will happen is new leaders being developed. Leadership is not an isolated process, it’s exactly the opposite. It’s contagious, inspiring. Besides to make people start to follow, leaders also reproduce new leaders.
The leaderactive is aware of this reality and has both hands on creating a favorable environment to new leaders to grow. I can mention her three favorable conditions to new leaders to rise: feeling uncomfortable, having faith and being energized. Leaders are driven for that. Feeling uncomfortable lead them to believe that there’s another way and all the energy is catalyzed towards what needs to be done.
It’s like when you’re seated in a bus or a train and see a pregnant woman stood in front of you. Suddenly you’ll feel uncomfortable with the situation. The discomfort will lead to believe that there’s a right thing to do, but you’ll only do if you put energy into your actions. A lot of people go until the second step, but they fail because of their lack of energy. But it doesn’t mean that every new leader has all these conditions. Leading a movement the leaderactive can create an environment that will stimulate people to move through these steps and to reach the leaderactivity. Leaders are involved in every level of leadership.
Never underestimate the power of small actions. Give up a seat in a bus has the real power to start new aspirations on someone’s heart. Small actions will lead to bigger ones. What’s the level of your energy?

🇧🇷 Quando nos envolvemos em um movimento e também envolvemos pessoas, uma das coisas que vai acontecer é o desenvolvimento de novos líderes. Liderança não é um processo isolado, muito pelo contrário. É contagioso, inspirador. Além de tornar pessoas seguidoras, o líder reproduz novos líderes.
O liderativo tem consciência dessa realidade e trabalha com as duas mãos em criar um ambiente favorável para novos líderes. Posso mencionar 3 condições favoráveis a isso: sentir-se desconfortável, ter fé e estar energizado. Líderes são motivados por isso. Sentir-se desconfortável leva a acreditar que existe uma outra possibilidade, assim toda energia é canalizada para que algo seja feito nessa direção.
É como quando você está sentado num ônibus ou trem e vê uma grávida em pé na sua frente. De repente você sente um desconforto pela situação. O desconforto vai levar a acreditar que tem algo certo a ser feito, mas só vai fazer se colocar energia na ação. Muitos vão até o segundo passo, mas falham por sua falta de energia. Isso não quer dizer que todos novos líderes têm essas 3 condições. Ao liderar um movimento, o liderativo pode criar o ambiente que vai estimular pessoas a passarem por esses passos e alcançarem a lideratividade. Líderes estão sempre envolvidos em todos os níveis da liderança.
Não subestime o poder das pequenas ações. Ceder o assento no ônibus tem o real poder de iniciar novas aspirações no coração. Pequenas ações geram ações maiores. Como está o seu nível de energia?

🇺🇸 For me it’s amazing how a seed can turn into a tree. It seems like a TV cartoon where anything can happens. Where were the tree inside the seed? How can something so small to give something so huge. This is one of the most impressive things in nature. The same is possible to happen with words.
Amazing is a good word to describe what happens in nature. It’s something huge, but today the word I’m going to write gives a similar idea. The word is ABSURD. Usually we use this word to describe something out of proportions, something huge in the sense of going beyond our expectations, for good or bad, mostly for bad things. If someone does something we don’ts agree we use to say that.
Absurd comes from two latin words: ab, which means “out, away” and surdus, which means “silent, deaf”. So, originally absurd is something that breaks the silent, causes the reaction to speak and the need for us to express ourselves. Usually this is how we react when something huge happens. We make noise. Making noise can be a powerful weapon. That’s why campaigns like, “Breaking the Silence”, "If you see something, say something” are so important and we should support everyone who has something to say. It’s an absurd to impose silence to oppress people. We shouldn’t ever accept anything like that.
There’re lots of noises in our world and an important thing to do for the good is to listen to those who are trying to say words of freedom and hope. It’s an absurd what these two conditions can do, in a good way.

🇧🇷 Para mim é incrível como uma semente se transforma numa árvore. É como desenho animado onde tudo pode acontecer. Onde está a árvore dentro da semente? Como algo tão pequeno pode gerar algo tão grande? É uma das coisas mais impressionantes na natureza. O mesmo acontece com as palavras.
Incrível é uma boa palavra pra descrever o que acontece na natureza. É algo grande, mas hoje vou escrever sobre algo similar. A palavra é ABSURDO. Normalmente usamos a palavra para descrever algo fora das proporções, grande no sentido de ir além das expectativas, tanto boas quanto más, mais más. Se alguém faz algo que nos desagrada normalmente dizemos que é um absurdo.
Absurdo vem de duas palavras latinas: ab, “fora, além” e surdus, “silêncio”. Originalmente absurdo é algo que quebra o silêncio, causa uma reação de falar e a necessidade de nos expressarmos. Normalmente é assim que reagimos quando algo grande acontece. Fazemos barulho. Fazer barulho pode ser uma arma poderosa. Por isso campanhas como “Quebrando o Silêncio”, “Se ver algo, diga algo”, são tão importantes e deveríamos apoiar todos que tem algo a dizer. É um absurdo impor o silêncio como forma de oprimir pessoas. Nunca deveríamos aceitar absolutamente nada dessa natureza.
Existe muito barulho pelo mundo e é importante dar atenção às pessoas que tentam dizer palavras de liberdade e esperança. É um absurdo o que essas duas condições podem criar, no bom sentido.

🇺🇸 Last weekend the media announced that ISIS suffered a final defeat as an organization. According to the news they lost the last territory under their control. Of course the supporters of their ideals will be still around and nobody knows yet what is going to happen next. Fights. They are all over the place called Earth. People are fighting at homes, at schools, at business places, at churches, at governments, at streets, at stadiums, even inside themselves. It’s really hard to judge the reasons why people are fighting. Everyone has a particular reason to fight for. Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Who’s in position to tell who’s right or wrong? Even when the verdict is reached it doesn’t mean the parts will be satisfied. One can proclaim victory, but maybe it’s just over a battle, not over the war. At the deepest level it seems like fights are a struggling for freedom. True freedom. Freedom seems to be the ultimate for the human desire. To be free from parents, authorities, being financially free, to go wherever want to and do whatever want to. We never know how high can the price for freedom can go, because inside us the idea of freedom is the best that could happen to us. Interesting thing here is, if you google images about freedom most of the pictures will be just one person lifting arms. Is that our main idea of freedom? So that’s why people keep fighting, because they are close to each other, they’re bumping to each other at streets, because we are part of a crowd and maybe that’s why it’s becoming harder to get our own space, our own freedom. There’s still the freedom for being happy living together. No need to fight for it, just the need to accept it. That’s it. Denison
🇧🇷 Semana passada a mídia anunciou que o Estado Islâmico sofreu uma derrota final como organização. De acordo com a notícia eles perderam o último território sob seu controle. Claro que os defensores dos seus ideais continuam por aí e ninguém sabe dizer o que poderá acontecer de agora em diante. Lutas. Estão em todo lugar deste planeta. Pessoas estão lutando em casa, na escola, nos negócios, nas igrejas, nos governos, nas ruas, nos estádios e até dentro de si mesmos. É difícil julgar as razões pelas quais as pessoas lutam. Cada um tem uma razão particular pra lutar. Quem está certo? Quem está errado? Quem está na posição de dizer quem está certo e quem está errado? Mesmo quando tem o veredito, não quer dizer que as partes estão contentes. Um pode cantar vitória, mas talvez só sobre uma batalha e não sobre a guerra. No fundo parece que lutas são esforço por liberdade. Verdadeira liberdade. Liberdade parece ser o mais importante no desejo humano. Liberdade dos pais, das autoridades, ser livre financeiramente, ir aonde quiser, fazer o que quiser. É difícil saber até onde pode ir o preço pela liberdade, porque dentro de nós liberdade é o que de melhor pode acontecer. Interessante que se procurar no Google imagens sobre liberdade, a maioria vai ser de uma pessoa com braços levantados. Essa é a ideia básica de liberdade? É por isso que pessoas lutam, porque estão próximos uns dos outros, esbarrando uns nos outros pelas ruas, porque somos parte de uma multidão e talvez seja por isso que está tão difícil de termos nosso próprio espaço, nossa própria liberdade. Ainda existe a liberdade de ser feliz vivendo juntos. Não é preciso lutar por isso, só é preciso aceitar. É isso. Denison
