🇺🇸 China’s students were announced as the best students in the world. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development conducted a study in 79 countries testing 15 year-old students in reading, math and science. Chinese students scored over 10% above the average of students around the world.
Not only that, but according to the study there’s a correlation between academic development and socio-economic background. Some countries, even between the developed ones, showed that the higher the socio-economic background the better is the academic performance. OECD is concern that although countries that are spending more on education, there’s no improvement on academic development.
This study is performed every three years around the world. According to the results specialists create the expectations about the future development of the countries. They believe that education has the main role in social and economic development. Schools’ quality is fundamental, but it seems that that’s no enough. Raising the bar of the quality may still require more from the real basic for the childhood development: when a child finishes a day in school, what’ll she find at home? How families are playing their role on supporting the educational system? Can countries increase quality inside the families as well in schools?
Future depends more on integrating every part of the society. Schools, families, business and religious organizations, health and security systems. In the hands of which children is the future being placed?

🇧🇷 Estudantes da China foram considerados os melhores do mundo. A Organização para o Desenvolvimento e Cooperação Econômica conduziu um estudo em 79 países com alunos de 15 anos em leitura, matemática e ciências. A média do chineses foi 10% mais alta que dos demais países.
Além disso, o estudo também mostrou a relação entre desempenho acadêmico e nível sócio-econômico. Alguns países, mesmo alguns desenvolvidos, mostraram que quanto maior o nível sócio-econômico, melhor o desempenho acadêmico. A organização está preocupada que, embora os países estejam gastando mais em educação, não houve melhoria correspondente no desempenho acadêmico.
Esse estudo é realizado a cada três anos pelo mundo. De acordo com os resultados especialistas criam expectativas sobre o desenvolvimento futuro dos países. Eles acreditam que educação tem o papel principal no desenvolvimento socio econômico. Qualidade nas escolas é fundamental, mas parece não ser suficiente. Aumentar a qualidade ainda requer mais da real base de desenvolvimento na infância: quando a criança termina o dia na escola, o que vai encontrar em casa? Como as famílias cumprem seu papel no sistema educacional? Poderiam os aumentar a qualidade dentro das famílias também?
O futuro depende mais da integração de toda a sociedade. Escolas, famílias, organizações empresarias e religiosas, sistemas de saúde e segurança. Nas mãos de que crianças está sendo colocado o futuro?

🇺🇸 Bad days for good news recently. We are still struggling with some horrible events, like what happened in Suzano, Christchurch, Utrecht, Mozambique and Malawi and Ethiopia. Some of the comments are that a huge part of the crisis we’re facing now comes from inside the families. To tell you the truth, it’s hard for me to accept it. Maybe we are touching only the surface of the issue. Let’s consider one problem. There's a hospital where is prohibited for the professionals to do any suture and surgery. They can treat all patients using any other methods. They have the best equipment, professionals, structure and resources. Do you think that hospital would have success? It’s unpleasant getting stitches and going through surgery, but even the most difficult patient would accept it if needed it. Today’s society is becoming similar with that imaginary hospital. There're problems, but who can touch the wound? Who’s allowing the wound to be touched? Maybe the family is a patient in this “hospital” too. Families became hostage of a society that offers destructive values. Corruption, schemes, consumerism, are dragging individuals and groups into a colapse resulting into tragedies. Maybe we need some stitches and even a massive surgery. Can we do it? Who’s helping the parents? Who’s supporting teachers and counselors? How can we control the passive violence on screens? How can we avoid the competition for ostentation? Most of the times families are being smashed by all of this. Are we going to blame them? The good news is we still can fight to recover lives. Let’s touch them not to hurt them, but to restore them. Any life still worths more than any ideology. Acts of love always overmatch hate. That’s it. Denison
🇧🇷 Dias ruins para boas notícias. Ainda estamos sofrendo com terríveis acontecimentos, como os de Suzano, Christchurch, Utrecht, Moçambique e Malaui e Etiópia. Alguns comentários foram de que a maior parte das crises que enfrentamos vem de dentro das famílias. Pra dizer a verdade, é difícil aceitar isso. Talvez estejamos tocando somente a superfície do problema. Vamos considerar um problema. Existe um hospital onde é proibido aos profissionais fazerem qualquer sutura e cirurgia. Podem tratar pacientes com qualquer outro método. Têm os melhores equipamentos, profissionais, estrutura e recursos. Você acha que esse hospital vai ter sucesso? É desagradável levar pontos e ter que passar por cirurgia, mas mesmo o paciente mais difícil aceitaria se precisasse. A sociedade de hoje está se assemelhando a esse hospital imaginário. Existem problemas, mas quem pode tocar na ferida? Quem permite que a ferida seja tocada? Talvez a família seja um paciente desse hospital. Famílias se tornaram reféns de uma sociedade que oferece valores destrutivos. Corrupção, esquemas, consumismo estão sugando indivíduos e grupos a um colapso resultando em tragédias. Talvez precisemos de pontos e cirurgia crítica. Podemos fazer? Quem ajuda os pais? Quem apoia professores e conselheiros? Como controlar a violência passiva nas telas? Como evitar competição pela ostentação? Na maioria das vezes famílias são esmagadas por tudo isso. Nós vamos culpá-las? A boa notícia é que ainda podemos lutar para recuperar vidas.
