DIFFERENCES AND DISTINCTION // DIFERENÇAS E DISTINÇÃO

“If we were able to peel pineapples, oranges and bananas the same way, it would be acceptable to treat everyone the same”.

Because fruits are different we treat them differently. We don't need scientific studies to tell us how to peel fruits and we don't have problem with that. This should be even more obvious when we are treating other people.

The main characteristic between human beings is  distinction. This means although there are similarities, we can identify them as differences. This is important to be understood since always. Siblings are different, co-workers are different, clients are different, members of an audience are different. If we learn how to understand the distinction we will be able to identify and treat everyone, and even an audience, distinctively, which is extremely positive.

Believe me, it is possible to treat people based on their differences. It is not difficult to learn that and it is as good as a fruit salad.

“Se pudermos descascar abacaxis, laranjas e bananas da mesma maneira, então será aceitável tratar cada pessoa da mesma maneira”.

Frutas são diferentes e por isso lidamos de maneira diferente com elas. Não precisamos de estudos científicos para nos dizer como descascá-las e não é difícil entender isso. Deveria ser ainda mais óbvio ao lidar com pessoas.

A principal característica dos seres humanos é a distinção. Isso significa que, embora tenhamos similaridades, podemos identificá-las como diferenças. É importante entender isso desde sempre. Irmãos são diferentes, colaboradores, clientes, membros de uma audiência são diferentes. Se aprendermos a entender as distinções seremos capazes de identificar e tratar cada pessoa, mesmo numa audiência, distintamente, o que é positivo.

Acredite, é possível tratar pessoas baseado nas suas diferenças. Não é difícil de aprender e é tão bom quanto uma salada de frutas.

TOGETHER // JUNTOS

🇺🇸 One of the most beautiful landscape images I’ve ever seen was a wheat field, while I was traveling through the country of the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. It looked like a golden carpet and it had a special touch of a tree right in the middle covered with a lot of green leaves. I’ll never forget that image.
 Plantation fields have this characteristic, plants grow TOGETHER.  This is today’s word. It’s easy to see the meaning of the word, because is something towards gathering people, things, ideas. But there’s an old root, an adjective, that means “self-assured, free of emotional difficulties”. That point caught my attention. The biggest challenge of being together is to deal and harmonize everyone’s emotions.
 Our emotions are the second strongest power in us. The first one is our will, but most of the time the will is affected by our emotions. We tend to protect our emotions with all our strengths. That makes complicated when two, three or more are together and have to discuss, dispute and confront the personal differences and interests. We use to thing that being gathered is to bring our emotions out of our interior, but what if we think like the meaning of the word? What if is it an opportunity to free our emotions? Maybe relating to other people’s emotions with be a lesson that will make us grow and stronger emotionally.
 We’re made to live and stay together to each other. I’m not saying it’s easy, but it can be amazing. It’s like a game that the best result is to finish tied. Being together starts with the feeling that nobody will loose.

🇧🇷 Uma das mais bonitas paisagens que já vi na vida foi uma plantação de trigo, quando viajava pelo interior de São Paulo. Parecia um tapete dourado gigante com um toque especial de beleza, uma árvore carregada de folhas bem verdes no meio da plantação. O tipo de cena que jamais vou esquecer.
 Plantações têm esse tipo de característica: tudo que cresce ali cresce JUNTOS. É a palavra de hoje. O significado é agrupar, reunir. Se puxarmos a raiz dessa palavra isso vai nos levar às bigas romanas, onde se juntavam dois, três ou quatro cavalos. Quando vamos para o grego vamos encontrar a palavra “zigoto” com a mesma raiz. Até a palavra “ioga”, sim da ginástica, vai ter a mesma raiz indo-européia.
 A idea geral da palavra juntos tem a ver com tudo que pode ser agrupado, mas com o objetivo de gerar algo novo, melhor ou maior. Não é apenas estar juntos, é estar juntos com propósito! Seja para tomar uma decisão, para iniciar e fortalecer relacionamentos, ou para construir objetos, veículos, também para gerar uma nova vida, ou criar uma condição física e mental melhor. Estar juntos vai causar reações, que vão ter o objetivo de alcançar uma condição melhor, condição essa que jamais seria possível alcançar sozinho. Não se trata sempre de disputa, mas principalmente de crescimento e fortalecimento mútuo.
 Fomos feitos para estar e permanecer juntos. Não digo que é fácil, mas pode ser incrível! É um jogo que é sempre bom quando termina empatado. Estar juntos começa com a idéia de que ninguém vai perder.

AUTOMATIC OR STICK SHIFT? // CARRO AUTOMÁTICO OU DE MARCHA?

🇺🇸 Cars are one of the major objects of the desire. They are more than utilitarian, they also can represent a level of status, attraction, power. More and more automotive industry is trying to make better, more beautiful and safer cars. Changes are expected, but cars will still make people passionate about them.
 I learned to drive in cars with stick shift gear. Now I’m driving automatic cars. It’s funny because when I was learning, I used to hear people saying automatic cars weren’t good. Now I hear the opposite. Different opinions will always be part of our life. The challenge is to deal with the emotions, because sometimes we can take personally and when this happens the problems start to come along with it.
 Driving a stick shift car is amazing. We feel the engine, the noise getting louder as the rotations speed up and that releasing sound when we change gear or when we make the tires smoke. On the other hand, until we get how to make the car to move on the first gear, that’s another challenge. Automatic cars don’t have the feeling of changing gears, but they’re easier to drive. We’ll never be worry about the time to change gear. Stick shit requires more control, automatic less. Life is not that different. It’s important to have control of our life, but sometimes we just need to leave things going naturally. .
 That’s why for me it’s important to be able to drive both models, automatic and stick shift. Handling good both will help us to be comfortable in the different situations of life. At the end, we need to stay in the road.

🇧🇷 Carros são um dos maiores objetos de desejo. Não são apenas utilitários, também podem representar um nível de status, atração e poder. Cada vez mais a indústria automobilística está melhorando, tornando mais bonitos e seguros. Mudanças virão, mas carros sempre vão deixar pessoas apaixonadas.
 Aprendi a dirigir em carros de marcha. Agora dirijo carros automáticos. Engraçado, porque quando estava aprendendo, as pessoas diziam que carro automático não é bom. Agora ouço o contrário. Opiniões diferentes sempre vão ser parte da vida. É um desafio lidar com as emoções, porque às vezes levamos para o lado pessoal e quando isso acontece os problemas começam a ter lugar na vida.
 Dirigir carro de marcha é incrível. O som do motor, o barulho das rotações ficando mais alto e o som prolongado quando se faz a mudança da marcha, ou o quando fazermos o carro cantar pneus. Por outro lado, até pegarmos o jeito de fazer o carro sair em primeira sem pular é outro desafio. Carros automáticos não tem sensação de mudar marcha, mas são mais fáceis de dirigir. Não vamos nos preocupar com mudança de marcha. Carros de marcha exigem mais controle, automáticos menos. Na vida é assim também. É importante ter controle, mas às vez precisamos deixar seguir o curso natural.
 Por isso acho importante saber dirigir os dois, automático e de marcha. Lidar com ambas condições vai nos ajudar a sentir confortáveis diante das situações da vida. No final, o importante é não sair da pista.

MATCH // COMBINAR

🇺🇸 To know the words is good, but when we drag down deeper in their meaning we’ll find out that the words are not only impressive, but our mind has the same potential to expand and enrich. Our thoughts can go far in the connections and the usefulness of each single word. It’s a growing experience.
 Today’s word is MATCH. I think this is one of the strongest characteristics of the words. When we put them together we’re creating a matching that builds a higher purpose. To match is to find a correspondent to a part or piece, to equal two parts, to fit elements together. It also can be a sport event, like a competition. Besides that, can be the little stick of wood tipped with gunpowder that we use to set fire.
 We can see different characteristics on this word. At most is to put two parts in front of each other to comparison and association. Our mind was built with a strong function to create associations. We see something and we tend to relate it with another thing we’ve seen. Then it starts to making comparisons, which usually ends up in judgement. That’s why it’s so easy for us to judge people. But just because it’s easy, doesn’t mean it’s the best thing to do. For me the good thing in matching is to see how the differences can be combined. When we do that we’re empowered to create better things.
 On the other hand, as a sports game, match can go on the other side. The association we get out of that is like to set fire on a stick of wood. But sometimes, even a little match on fire comes at hand for good.

🇧🇷 Conhecer as palavras é bom, mas quando vamos mais fundo no seu significado descobrimos que palavras não são apenas impressionantes, mas que nossa mente tem o mesmo potencial para expandir e enriquecer. Pensamentos vão longe conectando cada palavra. Isso faz a gente crescer.
 A palavra de hoje é COMBINAR. Acho que é a característica mais forte das palavras. Quando conectamos, formamos uma combinação que cria algo de propósito maior. Combinar é encontrar um correspondente para uma parte ou pedaço, igualar duas partes, juntar elementos. Também pode ser um acordo casual entre duas ou mais pessoas e harmonizar o uso de peças de roupas diferentes. 
 Sua utilidade é tão grande quanto os resultados que produz. De maneira geral é colocar duas ou mais partes para associação e comparação. Nossa mente foi feita com um alto potencial de comparação. Vemos algo e tendemos a relacionar com outra coisa que vimos. Então começam as comparações, que normalmente acabam em julgamento. Por isso é tão fácil julgar as pessoas. Mas por ser fácil não quer dizer ser o melhor a se fazer. Pra mim uma boa coisa em combinar é ver como as diferenças podem ser agregadas. Quando fazemos isso, somos capacitados com o poder de criar algo melhor.
 Cada elemento ou indivíduo tem seu valor único, mas não é limitado. Ele se amplia quando podemos combinar com o valor de outros. É como comer morangos, numa tigela de chantilly.
