“We can teach once, twice and even more, but the real impact is the connection we make”.

Teaching has a strong impact on those who dedicate their life to help other to learn. It is rewarding seeing other people growing. It doesn't matter if your are teaching children, young people or adults.

One of the goals of teaching is to cause an impact in the apprentice's life, which is not simple and easy. In general, people don't have a natural disposition to be taught. It is the dedication of who is teaching that makes the whole difference. That is the result of creating a connection. We have seen so many experiences of teachers and professors becoming an instrument to transform other people's life, just because they develop a way to connect with those being taught.

In reality, teaching goes beyond school. Each one of us can live this experience in so many situations. Challenges and rewards are always the same.

“Podemos ensinar uma, duas ou mais vezes, mas o impacto de verdade vai ser a conexão que fazemos”.

Ensinar gera um forte impacto nos que dedicam sua vida para ajudar outros a aprender. É recompensador ver outras pessoas crescendo. Não importa se está ensinado crianças, jovens ou adultos.

Um dos objetivos do ensino é causar um impacto na vida do aprendiz, o que não é simples nem fácil. Em geral, as pessoas não têm disposição natural para serem ensinadas. É a dedicação dos que ensinam que faz toda a diferença. Isso é o resultado de criar uma conexão. Temos visto muitas experiências de professores e professoras se tornando um agente de transformação na vida das pessoas, só porque desenvolveram uma maneira de criar uma conexão.

Na verdade, ensinar vai além da escola. Cada um de nós pode viver essa experiência em tantas situações. Os desafios e recompensas são sempre os mesmos.

NEIGHBOR AND SISTER // VIZINHA E IRMÃ

🇺🇸 There’s nothing unusual in having a sister or another member of the family as a neighbor. I’ve seen several cases like that. Usually members of the same family like to live close to each other to keep sharing good moments, allowing cousins growing up together, or just to share the family property.
 What is unusual is when two sisters live next door to each other, but they don’t know it. Are you asking how? That happened in Wisconsin. Hillary found out about her biological parents and searching the genealogical tree also discovered she has siblings. In 2017 a new neighbor moved to the house next door and coincidently she has the same name as one of her biological sisters, Dawn Johnson. Coincidence?
 After taking some time observing the new neighbor she decided to take action and talk to Dawn. She welcomed her to the neighborhood, ask about her name, about her parents, until Dawn admitted Hillary was her sister. Dawn was surprised about that, because she looked fo 20 houses before decided to move to that specific one. Now they are reunited the are spending most time together possible. It’s like to start a new life. I use to say that we live in a small world that keeps turning around. There are connections and also we are crossing on to each others path. Sometimes it may be as good as to meet a lost sibling.
 Is our life so busy that we just can’t notice people around us? How would be possible to change the situation and start to bring new friends, interesting people to our life? How curious are you about that?

🇧🇷 Não tem nada de incomum em ter uma irmã ou outro membro da família como vizinho. Já vi vários casos assim. É comum membros da mesma família gostam de viver próximos para poderem partilhar os bons momentos, permitir que os primos cresçam juntos ou apenas para partilhar a propriedade da família.
 O que é incomum é quando duas irmãs vivem ao lado uma da outra, mas não sabem. Está se perguntando como é possível? Foi no Estado de Wisconsin, EUA. Hillary descobriu seus pais biológicos e procurou mais informações na árvore genealógica até descobrir que tinha irmãos. Em 2017 uma nova vizinha mudou para a cada ao lado e tinha o mesmo nome de uma das irmãs biológicas. Coincidência?
 Depois de algum tempo observando a nova vizinha, ela decidiu fazer alguma coisa e conversar com Dawn. Deu as boas vindas ao bairro, perguntou o nome, sobre os pais, até que Dawn admitiu que Hillary era sua irmã. Dawn ficou surpresa, porque ela havia olhado 20 casas antes de decidir por aquela. Agora que foram reunidas elas passam grande parte do tempo fazendo coisa junto. É como um recomeço na vida. Costumo dizer que vivemos num mundo pequeno e que dá voltas. Existem conexão e também cruzamos o caminho uns dos outros. Às vezes pode ser tão bom quanto encontrar um irmão perdido.
 Em nossa vida tão agitada não dá pra notar as pessoas ao nosso redor? Como poderíamos mudar a situação e trazer novos amigos, pessoas interessantes para nossa vida? Isso não te dá curiosidade?
