🇺🇸 A college student from Minnesota used to drive 270 from where he lives to Clive, IA, to pick donuts and resell them in his neighborhood, Donuts are from a very traditional brand and he noticed that in the State of Minnesota there’s no any store from that brand. Then he decided to make some profit of that.
A local press heard of his venture and published an article about his entrepreneurship. According to the article he was using the profits to help him to pay off his student debts. The article caught the donut company’s attention and days after the student receive a phone call from the company demanding him to stop to sell the donuts in Minnesota because his sales were creating a liability for the company.
The Donut Guy, as he became known, was about to to make his 20th trip to Iowa when he got the warning. Interesting is that he said he was expecting some kind of warning like that, but not too early. The company’s action cause some reactions from people that defending the student and soon a campaign against the company started in the social medias. Now the company changed its discuss tune. The published a statement recently saying that now they appreciate the student’s entrepreneur spirt and they are looking into the matter. It seems they want to find a good solution for both sides in this situation.
Have you done something good and suddenly you’ve found out there are people bothered about that? Are you aware that we can’t please everybody? Good actions are like donuts, not everybody like them.

Os donuts são de uma marca tradicional que não possui lojas no Estado de Minnesota. Assim ele viu uma oportunidade de ganhar um dinheiro extra vendendo os donuts.
Um jornal local ouviu sua história e publicou um artigo sobre seu empreendedorismo. De acordo com o artigo ele estava usando o lucro para pagar seus débitos acadêmicos. O artigo chamou a atenção do fabricante dos donuts e dias depois ele recebeu um telefonema da companhia exigindo que ele parasse de vender os donuts em Minnesota por as vendas estariam criando implicações para a companhia.
Conhecido como “Donut Guy”, ele estava para fazer sua vigésima viagem para o Iowa quando recebeu o telefonema. Interessante é que ele disse que esperava receber o aviso, só que não tão cedo. A atitude da companhia gerou reação das pessoas que defenderam o estudante e logo uma campanha contra a companhia começou nas mídias sociais. Agora a companhia mudou o tom do discurso. Publicou uma declaração recentemente, dizendo que aprecia o espírito empreendedor do estudante e que eles estão considerando a situação. Parece que querem achar uma boa solução para ambos os lados agora.
