🇺🇸 Do you know what is it? Have you ever heard of it? Jacobabad is a city in Pakistan. The country is located between Afghanistan, Iran and India, also bordering with China’s southwest. Jacobabad is located in the middle of the country, in the province of Sindh. Current population is 200,815 and it was founded in 1847.
Jacobabad is been considered the hottest city in the world. The average temperature during the year is 93ºF. In the summer is 105ºF. The record high is 127ºF, although the highest temperature ever recorded is 134ºF in California. There’s a dispute between Jacobabad and Turbat, also in Pakistan, as the hottest city in the world, but people thing soon Jacobabad will take the fist place definitely.
In the beginning September of 2019 the heat caused a power outage cutting out the air-conditioner in the hospital ICU killing eight babies. Those who work in the field have to take a break from noon to 3 to support the heat. People ask: How’s life in the hottest city in the world? Here is the answer of one of the residents of the city: “Even if it so hot as if the land were on fire, we would keep working”. All they think is that they need to finish everything they have to do in just few hours because time (and the heat) doesn’t take a break. What an example of efficiency and determination before struggles and crisis!
I use to say that all that people need is a good excuse. With a good excuse you can get a lot. So what’s your choice before the challenges of life: to use excuses or to face the heat or cold to get things done?

Jacobabad está sendo considerada a cidade mais quente do mundo. A média da temperatura no ano é de 34ºC. No verão é de 41ºC. O máximo registrado foi 52.8ºC, embora a maior temperatura já registrada na Terra é de 56ºC na Califórnia. Existe uma disputa com Turbat, também no Paquistão, como cidade mais quente do mundo, mas especialistas dizem que logo Jacobabad vai tomar o primeiro lugar de vez.
No começo de setembro houve uma queda de energia cortando o ar condicionado da UTI do hospital e 8 bebês morreram. Quem trabalha no campo tem que fazer uma pausa do meio-dia às 3 para aguentar o calor. As pessoas perguntam: como é viver na cidade mais quente? A resposta de um morador de lá: “Mesmo que esteja tão quente a ponto de sair fogo do chão, temos que continuar trabalhando”. Tudo que eles pensam é que precisam terminar todo trabalho nas poucas horas que têm, porque o tempo (nem o calor) dá uma pausa. Que exemplo de eficiência e determinação diante de problemas e crises!
