🇺🇸 I’ve heard people saying that planning and strategy are wasting of time. That all we need is to go to action. It’s hard to explain to some people that planning and strategy are part of the action too. Now I’m wondering if it’ll be possible to explain this here with few words. But believe me, both are really important!
Some people don’t like to deal with details and basically planning and strategy involve details. Of course they are specific parts of the process of reaching goals and sometimes people get confused with which is one and what’s the other. Then someone came up with a magical solution and created the “strategic planning”. So whatever you do at this level must hit the target, right? It depends on where you’re aiming.
Pretend that it’s time to shop for groceries. What do you do? You’re going to make a list of things you need to shop, then you’ll set a budget for it and choose the supermarket you want to go. That’s your planning. You also have to decide if you’re going to walk every aisle of the market or go right to the products on the list, creating a path to get them and checking how they gonna fit on your budget. This is strategy. See, both are involved in the main goal, but each of them play a different part in the process and also work to each other to reach the best results. Work with them could be easier than you think.
Everybody knows that going to the supermarket without knowing what we need and how much we can spend is the first step to spend money we don’t have on things we don’t need. Do you think this is good?

🇧🇷 Já ouvi pessoas dizendo que planejamento e estratégia é perda de tempo. Que o que precisamos é agir. É difícil explicar para algumas pessoas que planejamento e estratégia são parte da ação também. Agora vamos ver se é possível explicar isso aqui em poucas palavras. Mas acredite, ambos são importantes! Tem gente que não gosta de lidar com detalhes e basicamente planejamento e estratégia envolvem detalhes. São partes distintas do processo de alcançar alvos e às vezes as pessoas confundem qual é um e qual é o outro. Aí alguém veio com a solução mágica criando o “planejamento estratégico”. Assim não importa o que você faça vai acertar um ou o outro, certo? Aí depende onde você está mirando. Imagine que você vai fazer compras. O que você faz? Faz uma lista das coisas que precisa comprar, então define o seu orçamento e escolhe em qual supermercado você vai. Isso é o seu planejamento. Você também vai ter que decidir se vai ficar andando por todos os corredores ou se vai direto aos produtos da lista, criando um roteiro pelo mercado e pra checar como as compras vão caber no orçamento. Isso é estratégia. Ambos estão envolvidos no objetivo principal, mas cumprem função diferente no processo e também cooperam um com o outro. É algo que é mais simples que imagina. Todo mundo sabe que ir ao mercado sem saber o que precisa e o quanto pode gastar é o primeiro passo para gastar dinheiro que não tem em coisas que não precisa. Você acha que isso é bom? É isso.
