🇺🇸 July 2019 is the 50th year celebration of the man landing in the moon for its first time. One of the most exciting events of our era. I think today would still be something amazing, so imagine happening 50 years ago! We still waiting for what would come next, and we wonder where it could happen.
We’re expecting for lot of “space" in the media about that event these days, but one thing we probably won’t see is the original image of the “moonwalk”. Just because something very unusual happened. In 1976, the NASA accidentally sold the original footage from the Apollo 11 in the moon to an intern for $217.77. He kept the tape and now it’s being sold by Sotheby’s at the initial bid of $700,000.
It’s almost unbelievable, specially because the auction company says the tapes are worth up to $2 million. Can you imagine something like this? Luck for few, despair for many. How many times in life we expect something like that could happen to us? So what we do call “luck”, in fact we can name it “lack of attention”. Someone didn’t pay attention to the content of the package that was been sold, and I’m sure, even the intern didn’t know exactly what he’s getting there. A little attention can change the history. That could mean, a double check, asking one more time, reading again.
These kinds of precautions work even better when we’re about to say something. Words in our mouth are a treasure, but if we negligently spit them, we risk to depreciate what could stand preciously for ever!

Se acontecesse hoje de novo, seria incrível da mesma maneira, agora imagine há 50 anos! Ainda estamos esperando pelo que virá em breve, e para onde vai nos levar.
Podemos esperar por muito “espaço” na mídia sobre esse evento nestes dias, mas uma coisa que talvez não veremos é a imagem original do “moonwalk”. Porque algo incomum aconteceu. Em 1976, a NASA acidentalmente vendeu o vídeo original da Apollo 11 na lua para um estagiário por US$217,77. Ele guardou a fita e agora está sendo vendida pela Sotheby’s pelo lance inicial de US$700.000,00.
É quase inacreditável, especialmente porque a companhia de leilão diz que a fita pode valer até US$2 milhões. Da pra imaginar isso? Sorte de poucos, desespero de muitos. Quantas vezes em nossa vida esperamos que algo assim aconteça? O que chamamos “sorte”, na verdade pode ser chamado de “falta de atenção”. Alguém não prestou atenção ao conteúdo do pacote que foi vendido, e tenho certeza, que nem o estagiário sabia exatamente o que tinha lá. Um pouco de atenção pode mudar a história. Isso significa, checar de novo, perguntar mais um vez, fazer uma segunda leitura.
Precauções muito importantes quando estamos pra dizer algo. Palavras na boca são um tesouro, mas se falarmos negligentemente, arriscamos “mandar pro espaço” o que poderia ser precioso para sempre!
